Following a police raid in 1988, Erwin was arrested for espionage, and DNA tests revealed he was not her biological son, leading to a heartbreaking trial. Ultimately, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, and upon release, he expressed no remorse for his actions or for Johanna, who had longed for a connection with him.
