What is SDN and NFV: Trends in Virtualization about?

This document provides an overview of software defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV). It discusses how SDN separates the control plane from the data plane, allowing for more programmable networks. It also explains how NFV aims to virtualize network functions, such as firewalls and load balancers, to reduce costs and provide a more flexible network. The document surveys these technologies and discusses how they are complementary, with SDN providing control and automation to impro
