What is Soil Microbial Biomass C and N Protocol about?

This document describes a protocol for determining soil microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen using the chloroform fumigation-incubation method. Soil samples are collected and pre-incubated, then subsamples are fumigated with chloroform vapor for 24 hours to lyse microbial cells while control samples are not fumigated.
