This lesson plan is for a Year 5 class on investigating technology and structures. The 45 students will learn about shapes in structures through observing daily examples, discussing shapes they see in the classroom, and making 3D shape models. They will classify shapes as 2D or 3D, learn about cube, cuboid, cylinder, hemisphere, pyramid and sphere shapes, and identify these shapes in building pictures.
