What is Distal Tubule Function in Renal Physiology about?

The distal tubule is composed of three segments: the thick ascending limb, macula densa, and distal convoluted tubule. The thick ascending limb reabsorbs 30% of filtered NaCl via the Na+-K+-2Cl- cotransporter. It also reabsorbs 15-20% of filtered calcium and is the major site of magnesium reabsorption. The distal convoluted tubule reabsorbs 5% of filtered NaCl and 5-10% of filtered magnesium. It is also the primary site of PTH action on calcium reabsorption and reabsorbs approximately 10% of filtered phosph
