What is The Emperor's New Clothes about?
In this retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's fable, a scheming tailor tells a clothing-loving emperor that he can make the emperor clothes of a wonderful fabric that other tailors do not know. He tells the emperor that only the wisest people in the land can see the fabric. Although he can not see the fabric, the emperor, not wanting to seem unwise, contracts with the tailor for a new suit of clothes. When riding in his carriage, wearing his new clothes, travelling through the streets of his city, he is startled to hear a young child ask why the emperor is not wearing any clothes
