What is Causes and Effects of Acid Rain about?

Acid rain is caused by air pollution from the burning of fossil fuels, which releases sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere. These gases combine with water and oxygen to form sulfuric acid and nitric acid, making rainwater acidic. Normal rain has a pH of 5.0-5.5 but acid rain can have a pH as low as 4.0, making it 10 times more acidic. The lower pH of acid rain damages both the environment and man-made structures.
