What is Marie Curie: Discoverer of Radium (Great Minds of Science) about?

Marie Curie is one of the most famous women of all time in the field of science. She was born in Poland in 1867, where there was little opportunity for a Polish person, especially a woman, to get an education. So Marie moved to France, where she met and married her husband, Pierre Curie.
Marie and Pierre pursued their interest in science together. Fascinated by the newly discovered phenomenon of radiation, they discovered two new elements-radium and polonium. For their discoveries, the Curies shared the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903 with Antoine Becquerel, the discoverer of radioactivity. Marie was also awarded a second Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911.
