Groups of 3-4 students will be assigned chapters from a poetry textbook and poems. Each group will present for 10-15 minutes on literary devices used in their assigned poem, including annotating and analyzing the poem. Groups must thoroughly explain how literary elements are conveyed in the poem and connect to its theme. Presentations will include background on the poet and poem, as well as a visual presentation. Students will take a cumulative test on all poems.
