Conclusions: When choosing a threshold to cover the entire motion range of lung lesions, SBR seems to be the predominant variable to consider. Surprisingly, motion had very little impact on the optimal threshold, which suggests that motion assessment may not be necessary for accurate thresholding of moving lung lesions. Further research (currently underway) includes a rigorous phantom experiment (4 SBRs, 7 motion amplitudes, 6 volume sizes) and 25 additional patients.
