What is History of the Sacred Tarot by C.C. Zain about?

This document discusses the history and development of attributing astrological meanings to the Tarot cards. It describes some of the early systems created by Eliphas Levi and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. While these systems provided initial insights, the document argues they were inconsistent and some of the planetary and zodiacal matches were unconvincing. A fully satisfactory system of astrological correspondences is still needed to fully illuminate the Tarot.
