What is Adolescent Girls and the Sexual Double Standard about?

This study examined how the double standard regarding sexual behavior is viewed today. Researchers interviewed women to understand if those reporting more sexual partners were seen as less popular or had lower self-esteem. They found that on average women reported less than one sexual partner. Having four or more partners led to being seen as "flirty" while less partners did not carry the same stigma. Most women still recognized a double standard, though it was viewed as less extreme than in the past.
