The author and three dogs - Finn, Struan, and Talaidh - went on a 6.2 mile walk through the Pentland Hills near Edinburgh. They hiked up three northern hills, enjoying views of the city but also dealing with changing weather conditions. Along the way they encountered other walkers and their dogs played. By the end of the walk as the clouds darkened, the author was glad to have a waterproof jacket as light rain began to fall.
