What is Squamous Cell Carcinoma about?

Over 1 million new cases of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) are diagnosed annually in the United States, and there is an alarming overall rising incidence of the disease. Although the majority of cSCC are cured by surgical intervention, high-risk tumors may be associated with recurrence, metastasis, or death. Patients with high-risk cSCC benefit from a systematic management strategy that encompasses early diagnosis, staging, appropriate intervention based on risk factors, and comprehensive post-treatment surveillance.
