What is Sikh-Mughal Conflicts Under Shah Jahan about?

The Siege of Qandahar was a major military setback for the Mughal Empire during the reign of Shah Jahan. Qandahar was an important strategic fortress that controlled the mountain pass between Afghanistan and Persia. Though the Mughals had held the fortress since 1638, in 1649 the Persian army besieged and recaptured Qandahar from the Mughals after a prolonged siege. The loss of this citadel weakened the Mughal position in the northwest and was a significant blow to their territorial dominance.
