About this document
Vickers Indenter Geometry Impact on Hardness by Lalo Mejia is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This document discusses an investigation into how indenter geometry influences hardness measurements. For Vickers hardness, the effect of indenter angle was tested using indenters with angles of 135.62, 136.14, and 136.64 degrees on reference blocks of 300 and 800 HV10. For Rockwell hardness, the effect of cone angle and tip radius was tested using indenters with maximum/minimum specifications on blocks of 30 and 63 HRC. The results showed decreasing measured hardness with increasing Vickers indenter angle.
