What is Leaving My Heart in Cuyo about?

The narrator came to Cuyo Island two months ago to heal their heart after a breakup. While they did not expect to also leave their heart behind on the island, they will be taking with them healing, joy, and courage for the future. Though it will be difficult to leave, the island has changed them for the better and helped them become more like themselves. A part of their core has been permanently changed, and while they will leave their heart in Cuyo, they will forever carry Cuyo in their soul.
