What is Zanzibar Heritage Centre Project Launch about?

The governments of Tanzania, Zanzibar, the EU, and US have partnered to preserve cultural heritage sites in Stone Town, Zanzibar over three years. This includes creating a heritage center at the former slave market, preserving the Christ Church Cathedral, and training the Wakf Commission in heritage management. The project aims to strengthen community identity and pride through cultural preservation, and fuel a sense of common belonging and ownership of cultural heritage among the Zanzibari people.
