Understanding Pointillism in Art by matthnabor is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Pointillism is a painting technique where tiny dots of pure color are applied to a canvas. When viewed from a distance, the dots blend together optically to form a coherent image. The French artist Georges Seurat developed pointillism in the 1880s and worked with other artists who became known for this new style. His famous painting "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" uses tiny colored dots that seem blurred when viewed closely but form the overall scene when standing further back.
