John had been avoiding explaining his strange encounter with an identical man to his wife Andrea for a week. When he finally tells her everything after she finds him in tears, Andrea proves understanding and promises to help John investigate the mysterious man the next day. They question two housekeepers at the building where John saw the man, but the housekeepers claim they have never seen such a person. John begins to believe the man was himself, but wonders if this other self is still alive or dead.
