What is Il-41 Oa about?
The study investigates the novel cytokine Metrnl/IL-41, which is found to be elevated in the synovium of Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) patients and produced primarily by entheseal stromal cells. IL-41 levels in synovial fluid were significantly higher in PsA compared to Osteoarthritis (OA) and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). The production of IL-41 from stromal cells can be further induced by the inflammatory cytokines IL-17A/F and TNF, suggesting its potential role in psoriatic inflammation.
