What is Reflections on Philosophy : Introductory Essays about?

introductory Philosophy Can Be An Exasperating Experience For Students Because Most Philosophy Texts Include Selections By Philosophers Writing To One Another. Such Texts Are Usually Well Beyond The Comprehension Of A First-time Philosophy Student. Students May Read And Reread The Assignment But Still Have Little Idea What It Is About, And Little Hope Of Improving By Sheer Effort Alone. In Class Discussions, The All-too-common Nervous Silence In Response To The Instructor's Questions Only Makes The Matter More Urgent--a Text Is Needed That Speaks To The Student.
