About this document
Reducing Bone Grafting in Alveolar Clefts by norave is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study evaluated the effectiveness of presurgical infant orthopedics (PSIO) combined with gingivoperiosteoplasty (GPP) at reducing the need for secondary alveolar bone grafts in patients with alveolar clefts. The study found that of the 20 cleft sites treated with PSIO and GPP, 12 (60%) did not require a bone graft, demonstrating that PSIO and GPP can significantly reduce the need for secondary bone grafting compared to controls who did not receive PSIO.
