This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the functional capacity of children and adolescents with congenital heart disease (CHD) by comparing their exercise performance to healthy controls. The findings indicate that patients with CHD have a significantly lower maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max) and maximum heart rate during exercise tests, with reductions of 9.31 ml/Kg/min and 15.14 bpm, respectively.
