What is Refractory Henoch-Schönlein Purpura Case about?

A 60-year-old woman with uncontrolled diabetes presented with a purpuric rash, joint pain and swelling, and kidney dysfunction. Extensive testing revealed she had Henoch-Schönlein purpura, a type of vasculitis, along with diabetic nephropathy and IgA nephropathy. She was treated with steroids, mycophenolate mofetil, and IV immunoglobulin which resolved her rash and joints but her kidney function continued to decline requiring dialysis.
