What is Jibe about?

A jibe is a sailing maneuver where a sailing vessel turns its stern through the wind to change the direction the wind is coming from on the boat. It allows the boat to sail at broader angles downwind. If done improperly an uncontrolled jibe can be dangerous as the boom can swing violently and cause injury or damage.
