Researchers at the University of New South Wales designed an all-vanadium redox flow cell using V(II)/V(III) and V(IV)/V(V) redox couples. The cell demonstrated over 90% charging efficiency at 3 mA/cm^ and maintained a stable voltage for 72 hours after charging. However, the graphite electrodes and sulphonated polyethylene membrane degraded with prolonged usage.
