This study compares the mental health status of Japanese-Brazilians in Kiyoharadai, Japan, and Bauru, Brazil, revealing significantly higher rates of minor psychiatric disorders in Japan (17.8%) compared to Brazil (3.2%). Factors such as being female, a smoker, or a former student in Brazil were associated with higher mental health issues in the Japanese community. The findings suggest a need for further research and support for the mental health of Japanese-Brazilians living abroad.
