This document provides instructions for creating a set of scales out of plastic bottles, string, and a coat hanger. The instructions are: cut off the tops of two plastic bottles; cut three pieces of string, one at 50cm and two at 20cm; add three equally spaced holes to each bottle top; thread the string through the holes and tie the bottles to either end of the coat hanger; add varying items to the bottles to try and balance the scales.
