About this document

Essential Brooding Guidelines for Chicks by Hadrien Faryala is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Chicks require proper brooding conditions to regulate their temperature and avoid stress. The brooder area must be prepared at least 24 hours in advance and maintained at the correct temperature, which should be monitored with thermometers. Improper brooding temperatures can cause chilled or overheated chicks, resulting in increased mortality, poor growth and flock uniformity. Expanding the brooding area every 2 days allows the chicks to occupy the entire house by 3 weeks of age.
