This study examined the natural history of Hymenoptera venom allergy (HVA) in children not treated with venom immunotherapy (VIT). The study found: 1) A total of 44 of the 130 children who responded to a survey reported being re-stung a total of 62 times over a median follow-up period of 6 years. 2) Most re-stings (62%) resulted in normal reactions, while severe systemic reactions (SSRs) occurred in 18% of re-stings. 3) Subsequent reactions after re-sting were significantly milder than initial reaction
