Ammonia is injected into flue gas before an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) to reduce stack sulfuric particulate matter (SPM) levels by 75 mg/nm3. The ESP has isolation gates to allow for repairs to ESP fields while the unit continues running. Maintaining ESP performance helps control air pollutants from being released into the environment.
