Thick Coal Seam Extraction Thesis by mohit kumar [NIT Rourkela] is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This thesis analyzes stress distribution during depillaring of thick coal seams ranging from 5-11 meters thick at depths of 150-900 meters using numerical modeling. A finite difference code called FLAC was used to conduct 24 parametric studies representing field conditions. Variables included seam thickness from 5-11 meters in 2 meter increments and depth from 150-900 meters in 150 meter increments. The modeling found that maximum stress on pillars was 35 MPa at 900 meters depth in a 5 meter seam, and minim
