What is Mhosler about?

This thesis presents advancements in carry chains for FPGAs, focusing on optimizing performance by integrating more complex carry structures such as Carry Select and Carry Lookahead, achieving a speedup of 3.8 times over existing architectures. It discusses the significance of carry chains in arithmetic operations and how current FPGA designs utilize a simple ripple carry scheme, which can become a performance bottleneck. The work aims to enhance FPGA efficiency and clock speed, making them more competitive
