What is The Rockford FIles #1 - The Unfortunate Replacement about?
To the Los Angeles police, Rockford was an ex-jailbird who had set himself up as a shady private eye. To Rockford, the men in blue were the ones who once had put him behind bars on a phony rap,and would do the same to anyone else if it would clean up a crime without fuss or muss. That's why Rockford specialized in handling cases that the cops called closed. And that's why he was very mixed up in a puzzle featuring a dead wino, a murderous muscle boy, a sexy widow, and a girl whose lips were made for red-hot kisses and lethal white lies. Rockford was going to track down a killer whom the police said couldn't be caught—even if it killed him. Based on the Universal Television Pilot "The Rockford Files" Teleplay by STEPHEN J. CANNELL Story by JOHN THOMAS JAMES Based on Characters Created by ROY HUGGINS and STEPHEN J. CANNELL.
