Wound closure glue is a medical adhesive that holds skin edges together as the body heals an injury. It is applied to the outside of the skin and causes only minimal discomfort. The glue will start to come off on its own within 10 days, and may take up to 3 weeks to fully detach. It is important to keep the wound dry for the first 48 hours, and then it can get wet in the shower but should be patted dry. Signs of infection include increasing pain, warmth, swelling, pus or a foul odor.
