About this document
Types of Fog Explained by Tim Roland is a document available to read on EtoBox.
There are several types of fog including radiation fog, precipitation fog, advection fog, steam fog, upslope fog, valley fog, freezing fog, and ice fog. Radiation fog forms at night when the air temperature cools to the dew point, allowing fog to form if winds are light. Precipitation fog occurs when rain falls through cold air and evaporates, raising the dew point. Advection fog forms from warm, moist air blowing over cool land or water.
