This study examined the effect of different levels of shading (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%) on the epidermal cell shape, stomata type, and stomatal index of five soybean genotypes. The results showed that shading did not change the epidermal cell shape or stomata type of any genotype. Shading increased the stomatal index on the abaxial leaf surface across genotypes.
