Electromagnetic surveys using transient electromagnetic soundings (TEM) and induced polarization electromagnetic (EM-IP) methods were conducted over highly conductive sediments in Southeast Asia to map potential reservoir zones and characterize them using IP anomalies. The surveys faced challenges from high conductivity exceeding 2000 S and noise from unstable 50 Hz power lines, but special processing algorithms allowed sensitivity to depths of 4 km.
