Workers must be removed from the area if issues are found until risks are mitigated. Excavations requiring entry must have safe means of entry and exit like stairs, ladders, or ramps within 25 feet if over 4 feet deep. Loose material must be scaled back from trench edges and all items kept at least 2 feet away.
