About this document
Chronic Kidney Disease Pathophysiology Flowchart by Jet Ray-Ann Garingan is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Chronic Kidney Disease progresses through multiple stages as kidney function declines. It has both modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors. As kidney function decreases, waste products accumulate in the bloodstream and numerous complications develop including fluid overload, electrolyte imbalances, metabolic acidosis, anemia, weakened bones, cardiovascular disease, and increased risk of infection. Later stages are characterized by a complete loss of excretory kidney function.
