What is GST Tribunal Empowerment Notification about?
The Central Government has empowered the Principal Bench of the Appellate Tribunal to assess if input tax credits or tax rate reductions have led to a corresponding decrease in the prices of goods or services provided by registered persons, as per the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. This notification is effective from October 1, 2024. It follows recommendations from the Goods and Services Tax Council.
