Frank Smith Jr. was driving his automobile across a bridge when he encountered Amado Picart riding a pony in the opposite direction. Smith blew his horn multiple times to warn of his approach. Picart pulled his pony to the right side of the bridge instead of moving left. As Smith drove closer, attempting to pass on the proper left side, the pony became frightened and was injured when it turned into the path of the automobile.
