What is Soft Tissue Sarcomas about?
These clinical data have brought about a new approach in the combination of irradiation and surgery, the surgical procedure removing gross disease without attempting to get wide margins and irradiation delivering doses of the order of 5,000 rad. The sequence of irradiation and surgery has to be flexible, depending upon the location of the disease, the extent of the surgical procedure and the volume irradiated. In this issue, four disease areas will be discussed in which irradiation, in the past decade, has played a role either in combination with surgery or alone.
