The Indian Meteorological Department analyzed rainfall data from 1998 to 2001 for several states. Rainfall amounts were recorded in centimeters for each year and state. In 2001, the maximum rainfall of 411 cms occurred in Assam. The minimum rainfall of 265 cms was in Goa in 1999. On average, rainfall was 325.5 cms in 1999. There were 3 values above 350 cms between 1999 and 2000. A line graph also depicts the annual rainfall amounts for each state over the 4-year period.
