This study investigates the effect of livestock manure biochar (LMBC) on the biodegradation of polyhydroxyalkanoate microplastics (PHA-MPs) during composting. The addition of LMBC significantly enhanced the degradation rate of PHA-MPs, increased microbial activity, and improved the overall composting process. These findings suggest that LMBC can be an effective amendment for promoting the biodegradation of microplastics in composting systems.
