The Heretic class light cruiser was an early precursor to the more common Dauntless class cruiser in the Imperial Navy. These fast cruisers had huge firepower for their size but seemed prone to corruption by Chaos. Within 120 years, six of the original eleven Heretic cruisers had turned traitor to the Emperor. The remaining five were destroyed by the Inquisition. By the time of the Gothic War, two of the renegade Heretics remained undetected.
