What is Bi-Objective Optimization in Stratified Sampling about?
In statistics stratification and allocation problems can be formulated in various manners. In section 2 of this article we derive after introducing some basic notations two such formulations. In section 3 these are combined to a hybrid one. Then we describe in section 4 some details of a heuristic solution procedure which has already been used with success for solving a simplified version of the stratification problem considered here. Section 5 discusses some methods for determining feasible stratifications. In section 6 we present some numerical results which we obtained with the approach described in the foregoing sections. The last section deals with some straightforward extensions of the approach to an interactive one. 1.
