What is Combined Transcranial Doppler and Melatonin Levels To Predict Delayed Cerebral Ischemia After Subarach about?

This study investigates the predictive value of combining transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) and serum melatonin levels for delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) following subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). It includes 120 patients, revealing that higher serum melatonin levels and middle cerebral artery mean blood flow velocity (MBFV) are associated with DCI. The findings suggest that this combination could serve as an early clinical predictor for DCI in patients with aneurysmal SAH.
