What is 6.5 Dukal Biofilm Study about?

This study compares the efficacy of two hypochlorous acid (HOCl) wound rinses, Vashe and Spectricept, against common wound pathogens and biofilms. Results indicate that Spectricept, which includes metal ions, outperformed Vashe in killing four out of five tested pathogens and showed greater effectiveness in reducing biofilm components. The findings suggest that next-generation HOCl formulations may enhance wound care by effectively targeting resistant microbes in chronic wounds.
